Submit Scholarship Application (closed for 2025)

First register for an account. Note: if you applied last year, you will still need to create a new account for this year. Last years documents will not be available either.  You will need to upload them again.  After you register, administration will activate your account. Please check your email for notification.

An application is incomplete until the required references and transcripts have been received. Unaltered official transcripts may be uploaded by the student, or they may be emailed directly to the Scholarship Chair if the school requires it. Applicants may not submit their own letters of recommendation. We will give you a special link to provide others so they may submit references on your behalf.

As part of your Application package you will be required to write and submit two(2) essays as outlined below.  You will be able to upload them using the applicant portal after submitting your application.

Personal Statement

On a separate page, in 250 to 500 words describe your personal and educational goals and the reason(s) you believe a Thomas Munson Foundation scholarship will help you achieve your goals. Tell us about any special financial circumstances or other information we should consider when we review your application package.

Historical Context Question

On a separate page, in 250 to 500 words answer one of the following questions:

  • What does it mean to you to be descended from an early settler of the New Haven Colony?
  • What is the value of studying the history of the United States?
  • Thomas Munson left the known world of England for a new life in what would become the United States. In what way have you taken a chance or tried something new to achieve a goal that is important to you?

All scholarship application materials/documents must be submitted and received prior to midnight EST on March 1st, 2025. Please do not wait until the last minute to avoid potential technical obstacles.
